  • Your Farm, Your Goals

    Discuss specific farm goals, within the framework of Hamilton Agriculture suite of services listed below, and create a farm plan tailored to the specific goals of the landowner

    Visit farm to create and deliver a macro level report of current state of the farm including, but not limited to, environmental issues, hazardous materials, farm appearance, potential sustainability, and capital projects

    Provide landowner with proposed budget for annual expenses, revenue, and potential improvement projects with a thorough cost/benefit analysis

    Advise landowner on available programs for improvement, cost sharing, higher value varietals, and sustainability measures

    Provide analysis of recreation potential, including a report listing possible sites and improvements that could be made to enhance the recreational utility and value of the asset

    Interview and recommend, or remove, tenants for the farm, when necessary and approved by landowner

    Negotiate landowner approved lease with tenant

    Establish annual farm plan with tenants, in line with goals of the landowner, and ensure vision is shared

  • Tenant Management and Normal Farm Maintenance

    Ensure tenants carry appropriate crop, liability, and property insurance if applicable

    Approve and oversee ordinary repair and maintenance on the farm

    Initiate and oversee small projects, for normal repair and maintenance

    Any project necessitating material expense will require written (or electronic) approval from landowner

  • Landowner marketing and standard reporting

    If crop share rent structures are in place, secure crop insurance, if landowner desires

    Discuss and agree upon target, market based, selling price of crop and market landowner share of crop

    Collect cash rent (if not a crop share rent) from tenants

    Complete all required USDA paperwork to operate the farm

    Review available NRCS/FSA programs that may be applicable to landowner asset

    Perform monthly on-site visits during active season and quarterly on-site visits in the off season to ensure goals of landowner are being met

    Provide quarterly written updates to landowner and end of year report on asset performance
